Kate Craig's Cookies
Ingredients

½ cup (softened) butter
⅜ cup (packed) brown sugar
⅜ cup granulated (white) sugar
1 egg
½ tsp salt
½ tsp baking soda
1 tbsp hot water
1 ⅛ cup flour
½ cup pine nuts (optional)
1 tsp vanilla
½ lb chocolate chips
(approx. 1 ⅓ cup)
1. Preheat the oven to 350℉.
2. In a medium bowl mix flour and salt. Set aside.
3. In a new bowl, dissolve baking soda into hot water. Set aside.
4. Cream together butter, brown sugar, white sugar, until combined.
5. Beat in eggs, vanilla, and baking soda mixture until light (about 1 minute).
6. Mix in the dry ingredients until combined.
7. Add chocolate chips and fine nuts (optional), mix well.
8. Roll dough into balls and place them evenly spaced on your baking pan.
9. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 8-10 minutes. Take them out when they are golden brown.
